Whenever possible, access the Library's databases from the Databases A-Z list. Our friendly URLs will take you to the desired resource and recognize that you are an OpenAthens user. Another benefit of using our links is that once you are logged in, other resources automatically recognize you and will provide seamless access for the rest of the day.
When accessing a resource directly through a vendor website instead of through the library's friendly URLs, look for an institutional login. The exact wording may vary by database - it could say "access with single sign-on", "library or group", etc. You will need to search for the "Commerce Research Library" before being taken to the familiar OpenAthens log in screen.
This will only work for resources the library subscribes to. A few examples are below.
To log in to the Financial Times from https://ft.com, follow these steps:
1. Click on Sign in.
2. Enter your OpenAthens email address and click Next.
3. FT will automatically recognize that you use OpenAthens (SSO). Click SSO Sign in.
4. Enter your OpenAthens username and password.
You will then be transferred back to the Financial Times and signed in.
To log in to HeinOnline from https://home.heinonline.org, follow these steps:
1. Click on Login.
2. Enter Commerce Research Library in the Off-Campus/Remote Access box and click Login.
3. Enter your OpenAthens username and password.
You will then be transferred back to HeinOnline and signed in.
To login to IEEE Xplore from https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/, follow these steps:
1. Click on Institutional Sign In.
2. Search for Commerce Research Library in the Search for your Institution box and select it from the drop-down box.
4. Enter your OpenAthens username and password.
5. You will then be transferred back to IEEE Xplore and signed in.
To login to Westlaw from https://westlaw.com, follow these steps:
1. Click on Access with single sign-on.
2. Enter your email address and click Continue.
4. Enter your OpenAthens username and password.
You will then be transferred back to Westlaw and signed in.
