Commerce Employees

Directions from outside of HCHB: HCHB is located at 1401 Constitution Avenue, NW, and is easily accessible from two metro stations, Federal Triangle & Metro Center. The closest entrance to the library is on the corner of 14th & Pennsylvania Ave. Check in at that entrance with the guards, and then follow the red signs to the Commerce Research Library.

Visitors from the Public

General Library Visitors: Our public hours are by appointment only for visitors with a valid research need that requires access to the Library's print collections.  Please call or email ahead of time to ensure we have the materials you are looking for and that there is library staff available to escort you from security in a timely manner.  The Herbert C. Hoover Building (HCHB) is located at 1401 Constitution Avenue, NW, and is easily accessible from two metro stations, Federal Triangle & Metro Center. The building entrance for members of the public is on 14th St. across from the Ronald Reagan Building.

Library Event Visitors: Did a Commerce employee invite you to an event in the library?  All non-DOC employees must have a DOC escort at all times within HCHB, so please coordinate your arrival with the DOC employee hosting you to find the best entrance to use. Library staff are not available to escort visitors during events.

Parking

There is no onsite parking at the Herbert C. Hoover Building. The closest parking is at the Ronald Reagan Building across the street.

Hours of Operation

DOC Staff: Monday to Friday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
