CMAP displays the location of a supplier’s manufacturing, research, and storage facilities. Knowing this information is an important aspect of supply chain management.
A given company’s identified facilities are color-coded to signify their facility type, be they manufacturing centers, distribution or warehousing locations, R&D sites, or administrative offices. Terminal users can click into each node to access any further information available on each site (such as any products disclosed as being made at a given location).
The dots on the above map indicate all of Boeing’s facilities. The color of the dot indicates the type of facility; warehouse, factory, research lab, etc.
You can then overlay the company map with another map representing additional data. The shading indicates the intensity of the covid-19 pandemic, the lighter shades of grey being where the virus is most intense.
